Yang style Tai Chi is a slow, low-impact exercise that combines mindful movement and breathing. Classes are suitable for beginners and for anyone interested in improving balance, coordination, posture, relaxation, and body awareness in a calm and supportive environment.
By practising movements with correct alignment and timing them with the breath according to Tai Chi principles, students learn how to develop efficient movement, stability, and relaxed power while reducing unnecessary strain on the joints.
At Magpie Tai Chi, we approach Tai Chi as a practical and evolving art. Our classes draw from multiple teachers and traditions, focusing on methods that support health, awareness, and skill development while acknowledging their origins.
We value attentive practice over rigid dogma, encouraging students to explore movement with curiosity, consistency, and patience in a relaxed atmosphere.
Classes run on Saturdays at 8:00am, Tuesdays at 5:30pm, and Thursdays at 12:15pm at Kingsmead Leisure Centre.
